On Saturday, September 27, 2025, the Department of Adult Health and Cancer Nursing, in collaboration with the Palliative Care Center at University of the Ryukyus Hospital, hosted a public lecture titled “Practical Palliative Care to Support Cancer Patients and Their Families.”

Despite being held over the weekend, the event welcomed 46 participants.

The lecture covered key aspects of palliative care, including pain management for cancer-related discomfort, nutrition and dietary support during treatment, appearance care, and lymphedema management.

Participant feedback included comments such as:
•“It was very helpful to learn about nutrition and appearance care during cancer treatment and lymphedema management.”
•“I’m currently undergoing cancer treatment, and learning that there are various approaches to ease both physical and emotional pain gave me peace of mind.”
