Thu, Sep 17, 2026

On Saturday, September 12, 2026, the Department of Adult Health and Cancer Nursing, in collaboration with Nakagami Hospital, Keiaikai Medical Corporation, held a public lecture titled “Practical Palliative Care to Support Cancer Patients and Their Families”.

Despite being held on a weekend, the event attracted about 70 participants, including patients, family members, and local residents.

The lecture covered topics such as the concept of palliative care, medications for cancer pain relief, dietary strategies during cancer treatment, rehabilitation for cancer patients, and support for living comfortably and authentically in one’s community.

Participants commented that “It was very helpful to learn about dietary strategies and rehabilitation during treatment.” In addition, representatives from local home-visit nursing stations exchanged opinions with Nakagami Hospital staff on supporting patients who wish to live at home, making the event a meaningful opportunity for collaboration.

We sincerely thank all those involved for their cooperation in organizing this event.

Our department will continue to work closely with local medical institutions to promote awareness and understanding of palliative care in the community.
