Announcing the Report of the Second Cancer Nursing Seminar in 2023 and the Information of the Third Cancer Nursing Seminar (Adult Health and Cancer Nursing)

Wed, Dec 27, 2023

The 2nd Cancer Nursing Seminar was held on December 22, 2023 under the theme of “Supporting Cancer Patients’ Transition to Home Care”. (Face-to-face, web hybrid held)

Ms. Chiharu Hamamoto, director of the YMCA Visiting Nurse Station Peace in Hiroshima Prefecture, gave a lecture from the perspective of a Certified Nurse Specialist in Cancer Nursing.

Over 40 participants, including nurses involved in oncology nursing and students interested in oncology nursing, discussed examples of support for the transition to home care and how to respond to questions raised by participants in the field of practice, providing a meaningful learning opportunity.

Participants commented that they learned valuable insights into decision-making support from the outpatient setting, and that they learned the importance of preparing patients and their families physically and mentally to be able to make decisions and face their own problems.

This seminar was held as part of the “Kyushu Cancer Professional Development Plan for the Next Generation,” which was adopted this fiscal year.

The next Cancer Nursing Seminar will be held on Friday, March 8, 2024, at 18:00 (Room 210, Health Sciences Building, Web Hybrid), inviting Dr. Megumi Umeda, a nurse specialist in cancer nursing, who will speak on the theme of “Supporting People’s Lives in Their Familiar Community”.

We hope everyone interested in oncology nursing will join us.
